Because our work is guided by Jewish history and values, we not only support people of all backgrounds, but also work to address the unique needs of our region’s Jewish population through culturally tailored support services.
Our core services include financial assistance for people with critical food, housing, and medical needs; trauma informed counseling; and case management. We support a wide range of populations, including low-income populations, survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and refugees/immigrants.
A member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Director of Marketing and Communications will be responsible for setting JFS’s overall marketing and communications strategy while successfully executing against that strategy for maximum impact. The director will report to the Chief Development Officer and oversee a team that includes a marketing manager, coordinator and half-time web developer.
Marketing and Communications Strategy Development

This person will be expected to make recommendations on how to build capacity to serve these needs, whether through external consulting contracts, firms, independent writers and designers, or via internal support.
Development & Fundraising Collaboration
Strong collaboration with Development is critical to ensuring JFS meet its ambitious fundraising goals. The new Director will work in close partnership with the Development team to increase and maximize engagement with existing and prospective donors through the development of compelling narratives that use multiple channels to reach the desired audiences.
Central to this role is ensuring that the work of JFS is communicated clearly and thoughtfully to its many audiences. This includes media relations, crisis communications, internal communications, the development of all related collateral, and, working across all forms of media (digital, editorial, print, social, video). The CEO has a prominent public profile in the greater Seattle community as the face of JFS and the Director will partner with him to amplify his voice.
