About Evergreen Action
Evergreen Action (Evergreen) is leading the fight to put bold climate action at the top of America’s agenda. We’re building the ambitious, actionable policy roadmap for an all-out mobilization to defeat climate change—and to create millions of jobs in a thriving, just, and inclusive clean energy future.
Evergreen was founded in 2020 by a group of former Inslee for America staffers and supporters who came together with a mission to build an all-out national mobilization to defeat the climate crisis and create millions of jobs in a clean energy economy.
When Governor Inslee left the presidential race, he made his 218-page “gold standard” policy plan into an open-source document. It lives on today as the Evergreen Action Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for this national mobilization: investing in and building both a thriving clean-energy economy that strengthens communities and a future rooted in justice and economic inclusion.
Today, Evergreen combines movement partnerships with direct advocacy to deliver the greatest positive impact, as fast as possible. They mix bold policy products with campaign-style communications and shrewd advocacy tactics. And it’s working. Read the latest impact report.
Since Evergreen was founded, they have successfully influenced the U.S. climate policy landscape. They played a pivotal role in the passage and implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), helped set critical federal standards on pollution, and aided in critical state wins like Michigan’s 2023 100% clean energy standard. Now, under the Trump administration, they are helping states both achieve bold climate progress and defend against attacks on progress, building momentum toward a cross-state climate affordability agenda and renewed climate leadership..
Though the challenges are immense, their work to build a thriving and just clean energy future is just getting started.
