Managing a job search or a transition to the social sector can be a lonely and frustrating journey. We get it. It’s completely understandable that one might seek out a guide to help navigate the unknown.
We are often asked whether a job seeker can “hire” us as executive recruiters to help them find their right next opportunity. While we do maintain a robust network of potential candidates that we regularly tap to match the executive searches we work on, it’s important to define what a relationship with an executive search firm entails.
A search firm is hired by client organizations to design and execute an executive search. We spend time getting to know our client, their organizational mission and strategic plan, and the core competencies for the position they are looking to fill. We write the Position Profile, create the interview protocol and timeline and manage the many details involved in hiring a leader. We conduct extensive research, mine our database of candidates and connectors and proactively reach out to people who may be a fit for the role. We screen and interview candidates whose skillsets match the requirements of the role and make recommendations to our client based on those interviews.
Building relationships with potential candidates is fundamental to our work, but it’s important to note that we work for our organizational clients, first and foremost. Unfortunately, we are not “hired’ by job seekers to help them navigate their search.
We encourage you to submit your resume to our talent database so that it will be searchable and available to us when we are working on a position that meets your skills and expertise. https://www.goodcitizen.com/executive-search/join-our-candidate-network/
